The US state of New Jersey is located in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions. It is the number one most densely populated state in all of the US. The state's largest metropolitan area is that of New York City. The state's official animal is the horse. It was the third overall state to join the Union.

Trivia

The hit reality TV show Jersey Shore was originally filmed in the state's coastal region. Zach Braff's directorial debut Garden State is named after the state's nickname.
